What NealsPaper Strives to Do

Neal of the Nealspaper is a fan of all forms of live entertainment, movies, and television.  He is also a constant reader and a frequent traveler. This site is a place for people to come to read one voice, one authoritative voice in the dialogue, and find out what might be worthwhile — or not — as you plan your entertainment outings. Mixed in with the theater and movie reviews will be assorted other commentary, excerpts from my theater diary, and maunderings about what might be on Neal’s mind that day. I enjoy sharing my points of view. I hope you enjoy reading them.

I think the thing I most respect about Neal is the comment he made to me ages ago, when I wanted to see a movie that had been panned, his words “Don’t listen to any critic, not even me, if you want to see a movie, go see the movie,”

Hello Neal, what a pleasure meeting you at long last. Here’s the link to the article in which I quoted you:

“The Architecture of Evil Intruding on the Innocence and Awareness of a Jewish Adolescent in Hiding: The Diary of Anne Frank at the Media Theatre”

As I shared with you at the Hedgerow, apart from the editor of the BROAD STREET REVIEW, you are the only Philadelphia theatre critic whom I quoted in my article published by the world’s largest Jewish theatre website. What did you think? 🙂

You have created a most informative theatre website. How you do it, I don’t know, but one thing I can say: You are making major contributions to the Philadelphia area theatre scene. I’m looking forward to reading many more of your reviews.

      Hi Christopher.

Sorry for taking so long to respond.

Yes, you may use excerpts from NealsPaper for Phindie. It’s a good site with several fine writers, you included.

    Hi Neal,

I discovered your reviews when I saw your write up of the Idiopathic Ridiculopathy Consortium’s production of Ondine and love your site! I am currently in the process of directing, producing and performing in an avant-garde Spanish play called Fando y Lis by Fernando Arrabal at the Philly Fringe Festival. I am wondering if you might be interested in seeing the show in the fall and possibly doing a write up of it.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you!
